5 Summer Fashion Must Haves

May 21, 2017 6 Comments

Summa summa summa time.

Technicallyyy summer doesn’t start for another month, but down in sweltering Florida we are already there. So, it’s time to share with you a run down of 5 fashion looks that are already en route to be HOT this summer. (Sorry, I had to.)

1. Chambray

This denim colored fabric is usually light weight, and is popular in multiple styles– tanks, shirts, dresses, and even rompers.  It looks very chic when pairing the top with white shorts or pants– kind of just screams summer, am I right?

The one I have in my closet and love?! This chambray romper that I’ve been favoring as a cover up for beach days! Stumbled across it at TJMaxx!

2. Off The Shoulder (OTS) / Cold Shoulder

Get ready to bare some shoulders! Both these styles ‘show off’ the shoulders, however the cold shoulder has straps in there (which helps add support by preventing some of the looser fabrics from just slipping down–a problem some face with OTS tops and dresses)

My OTS has bows in the sleeves which is my favorite added detail to this list! I found this lovely tangerine top at TJMaxx!

Here is an adorable option for a cold shoulder dress from Lilly Pulitzer! (and psst, did you spy those tassels in there? that’s a hint for later in the list!)

3. Kimono

Although my husband wasn’t as keen on this style right away, I quickly became a fan of this one, (although I think it maybe grew on him a little after I spent a full day in mine?)  There are so many different styles and patterns to choose from, and they are so light weight which is key for summer! Even if it’s too hot to wear it outside, it’s easy to carry around to slip on in air condition or for nights out that have a chill in the air.

The one I came across and fell in love with is this Floral Kimono from Sole Society.  Since the print adds so much color and “oomph”, I paired it with cut off/ripped jean shorts and a plain white tank.

4. Embroidery &  5. Tassels

I am combining these two because the piece of clothing I have that exemplifies it, contains both!  Add to that, a light weight fabric–so fun and summery, for sure! Paired here with some light washed jean shorts and these cute cognac sandals from Old Navy.  Ready for a laid back and casual summer day.

Another example of these two combined, is this summery tunic, found at J. Crew.  Perfect for summer and the beach!

Tassels are also being seen as earrings and necklaces–so popular! Definitely on my list to get next!

In addition to embroidery and tassels being paired up together, you can find the other items on this list, mixed up as well!

This Chambray Cold Shoulder top found at Nordstrom!

(& look..notice those bows?! 😍)

OR to throw your head into a further spin…

a chambray embroidered OTS dress. Say whaaat?! … An example is this dress found here at Belk!

Stay “cool” in these fashion must haves this Summer!

Happy shopping, loves!

Love these outfits! So chic and comfy! Wish that the Milwaukee weather would catch up so I could wear sleeveless rompers already!
